Alex J. Caffarini, President and Founder
Data Scientist. Entrepreneur. Educator. Born into a family of business owners, Alex has long been a tireless advocate for entrepreneurs and small businesses. And his advocacy was not lost in his decision to start Analysights. To Alex, the best brands and products always seemed to be the ones created by small, innovative companies. For this reason, Alex wanted to use his data science expertise to help small and midsized consumer packaged goods (CPG) firms compete more aggressively with the big players.
Alex has over 30 years of data science and marketing research experience, with much of it in the CPG industry. His data science expertise includes direct-to-consumer (DTC) analytics, demand forecasting, and promotion optimization. Prior to founding Analysights, Alex held key analytics roles at Johnson & Johnson, Astellas Pharma, SymphonyAI Retail, Willard Bishop, and NCH Marketing Services.
At both Willard Bishop and NCH, Alex enhanced the data collection and market-sizing processes for their industry-anticipated reports. He’s also authored and published a number of market-sizing and trend reports for the CPG industry; conducted industry analyses that resulted in private equity acquisitions of industry players, and developed predictive models that helped major CPG manufacturers forecast coupon redemption accurately and increase their ROI by over 20%.
Despite his busy schedule, Alex shares his expertise as an adjunct college professor. He has taught database design and business statistics courses at Loyola University Chicago, and will be teaching decision sciences courses at Saint Joseph’s University, in Philadelphia, in 2025. Alex holds both a B.B.A. in Economics and an MBA in Marketing from Loyola University Chicago.
A native of Chicago, Alex vociferously cheers on the Cubs, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Bears. Outside of work, Alex enjoys cooking, opera, performing arts, traveling, writing, and family gatherings. He resides in the Philadelphia suburbs.
